About Poltava State Medical University
As part of the Kharkiv Medical Academy, the Poltava Ukrainian Medical And Dental Academy was established in 1921. In 1967, the university was relocated to Poltava and was renamed Poltava State National Medical University.
In 1994, the Ukrainian Medical Dental Academy accredited the Poltava Medical Dental University. Approximately 4000 students are studying here. Around 1200 of them are foreign students from 42 different countries. Students are trained in medical and dental education.
The Poltava State Medical and Dental University is one of Ukraine’s top medical and dental schools offering undergraduate students quality medical and dental education. Academe published 710 educational products from 1999 to 2009, receiving 106 patents from Ukraine and Russia.
UMDA has begun using a credit modular system to teach its students following the Bologna Agreement.

Eligibility to study Poltava State Medical University
To qualify for admission to the Poltava state medical university, a student must fulfill the following basic requirements:
- The student must have completed his or her high school diploma from a regular board.
- For admission to any country abroad, students must pass NEET.
- To be considered for admission, a student must be a minimum of 17 years old on the 31st December of the year that the application is being considered.
- For students from the General category, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology must be at least 50% and English must be a compulsory subject.
- Physics, Biology, and Chemistry must be taken in an aggregate of at least 40%, and English must be taken as a compulsory subject if the student is an SC/ST/OBC.
