About Ternopil National Medical University
The Ternopil National Medical University is located in the city of Ternopil in Ukraine. MBBS courses are offered in various fields by this government institution. A Ternopil Medical Institute was established as the Ternopil National Medical University on 12 April 1957. The name of the organization was changed on July 1, 1992, to Ivan Horbachevsky. Following recognition, on 17 November 2004, it became Ivan Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University after receiving the status of State Medical Academy on 30 December 1997.
Many buildings were being constructed for the betterment of the students and staff at the time, including clinic facilities in the municipal hospital. Nineteen departments and 66 instructors were employed at that time. As a result, the Ternopil State Medical University Ukraine developed its faculties and started a variety of programs, and after Ukraine gained independence in 1991, there were many improvements.
The Ternopil State Medical University obtained institutional accreditation at the 4th level in 1994. A nursing faculty was added to the university in 1995 and the faculty of pharmacy was introduced in 2000.

This university is listed in the FAIMER (International Medical Education) directory under the ECFMG category as well as in the WHO (World Health Organization) directory of Medical Universities/Schools. Aside from that, TSMU’s degree is recognized by the WHO, the U.S. Department of Education, the General Medical Council of England, and countries in the EU.
According to QS Ranking system, Ternopil National University is ranked 15th in Ukraine and 3368 worldwide in 2021. At present, the university is accredited at the level of 4th.
Eligibility to Study Ternopil National Medical University
To study medicine at Ternopil State Medical University, you must meet the following requirements:
- Indian nationality must be the nationality of the students.
- At least two years of study in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at the 10+2 level in English are required.
- Individually, the candidate must have passed Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and English and must have obtained a minimum passing grade on the qualifying examination in those subjects.
- To be considered for admission, the candidate must be 17 years of age by the 31st December of the year in which he or she will turn 18.
- NEET is a requirement for candidates.

- Exam mark sheets for 10 and 12th grades, passing certificates, and leaving/transfer certificates.
- The following documents are necessary for Bachelor’s Degrees: Mark sheets, passing certificates, leaving/transfer certificates.
- Obtain a copy of your passport or any other ID card (passports must be valid for a minimum of two years)
- 8×10 photographs for passports
- Application forms that have been filled out
- Documents related to bank balances/financials
- An air ticket for a return trip with an open return date of one year (On Arrival)
- Obtaining a certificate of physical and mental fitness (attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs)

Ternopil National Medical University Admission Process
The Admission process of Ternopil National Medical University is very easy and fast. The steps are listed below:
- The first step involves applying online.
- Choosing a course is the second step after reading all the information on the website about the course and its fees.
- Students should send the following documents by email once they have selected a course:
a completed application form
Please supply a copy of your passport or other ID (it must be valid for a minimum of 2 years) as well as a copy of your HSC certificate (with the subject details). - Once the documents have been reviewed, the university will inform the students if their application was accepted or rejected.
- The students should then send the payment, either by bank transfer, by Western Union, or Money Gram, and the university will send a letter of invitation, letter of visa support, and admission letter by courier once it receives payment and documents.
- This step is completed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, WHO issues the invitation letter to students within 5-7 working days.
- The student should contact the nearest Ukrainian Embassy in his/her country after receiving the invitation letter from the university.
- Students must inform the University officials of their flight details, including the dates and arrival times. This is necessary as a representative of the university must meet the student at the airport.
- If the student does not inform the university that they have arrived, they will be deported back to their homeland.
